Celebration of the Life and Teachings of Cheng Man Ching with a competition,
workshops, discussions and, for the first time in Europe since 1956, an exhibition
of his paintings and calligraphy.
Attending will be Benjamin Lo, Chou Hong Bing, William CC Chen, Xu Yi Yung and other masters from around the world.

SAN SHOU (dos personas) La práctica del San Shou permite a los estudiantes simular condiciones de combate y adquirir conciencia de su propia técnica de trabajo. Aprender estrategia y aplicaciones es importante para comprender el arte en su totalidad. Sin éste conocimiento el arte es sólo una danza.
Estilo yang "KWAI TAIJI" - FORMA RÁPIDA.
Raramente vista y enseñada en occidente esta antigua forma rápida
proviene del estilo Yang. Extremadamente efectiva en el entrenamiento , desarrollo
y expresión del "jing" o la aplicación de la fuerza.
A través de su práctica el estudiante aprende a generar fuerza
y potencia a través de una profunda relajación (song) gracias
a la continua exploración y el contraste entre lento y rápido,
duro y suave, yin y yang.
El maestro Higginson estudia esta forma bajo la supervisión de maestro
Liang He Qing de Muar (en el linaje directo del gran maestro Yang Cheng Fu)
desde 1994.
La forma es enseñada junto con ejercicios auxiliares para el entrenamiento
de "fa jing".
Para aquellos que ya conozcan la forma se entrenará con sus aplicaciones.

Lugar (place): Una zona de montañas pobladas de bosques, ideal como
base para realizar todo tipo de actividades relacionadas con el entorno natural.

¿Cómo llegamos? (how arrive)Podemos llegar al albergue desde
la costa siguiendo por la carretera nacional N-634 hasta Castropol o Ribadeo,
desde allí a Vegadeo, donde enlazamos con la As-11, subiendo hasta
el puerto de La Garganta. Una vez aquí, nos desviamos hacia la derecha
(Ctra. As- 27) dirección Santa Eulalia de Oscos. Siguiendo esta carretera,
unos 3km. antes de llegar a Santa Eulalia, encontramos un desvío señalizado
a la izquierda que indica Vega del Carro. Subimos las dos rampas y el albergue
lo encontramos a mano izquierda.
Llegando desde el interior, vamos a Fonsagrada por la C-630, seguimos dirección
Grandas de Salime hasta llegar a Barbeitos (a 6 km de Fonsagrada) donde nos
desviamos a la izquierda hacia Santa Eulalia de Oscos (Crta. Lu-703). Atravesamos
Santa Eulalia y seguimos dirección Vegadeo, unos tres kilómetros
después de Santa Eulalia y una vez cruzado el río Barcia, encontramos
a la derecha un desvío que indica Vega del Carro. Subimos las dos rampas
y el albergue lo encontramos a mano izquierda.
Si se viene desde la A-6, no es necesario llegar a Lugo para coger la C-630.
Podemos desviarnos en la salida 461 dirección Cadavo-Baleira para enlazar
en esa población con la C-630 dirección Fonsagrada.
Para el verano que viene además del encuentro del veranín
nos vamos a Malasia sede central de la asociación para entrenar con
los maestros. (precio aprox. Con viaje en avión desde Madrid, hotel
de 5 estrellas 2300 euros

SAN SHOU WEEKEND - FRANKFURT, GERMANY at Jamie Dibden’s This course has been advertised for experienced students and will provide an opportunity to train at a higher level. Admission to this course will be strictly be arrangement, so let John know if you are interested.
PUSH HANDS WEEKEND - BARCELONA: This event has been organised by the Barcelona Wushu and Taiji Association, for senior students and instructors (not a Zhong Ding Spain event). This looks like being a good one. 19th/20th November.
ALSO BEAUTIFUL ASTURIAS IN THE NORTH OF SPAIN on the last weekend in November with our usual friends from Zhong Ding Spain, although the content and itinerary have not yet been fixed.

Several dates for events in España have already been set for 2006, and everyone is welcome to come over there to enjoy them – more definite details will follow as soon as they arrive.
This is organised by Juanjo and is a very enjoyable annual event. This is a lovely location, with an historic city surrounded by green parks. There will be a taiji course led by John Higginson on Saturday. On Sunday in the park are several workshops usually attended by several hundred people, as well as mass form practise and demonstrations.
This will be headed by Nigel and will be the first major grading held in Europe. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
Even better than last year (if that’s possible!) and probably now over four days, normally held in a stunning location either in the mountains where you can swim in the streams, or by the beach. (Note: Camp in Spanish doesn’t mean using tents, it means real rooms and real beds, although I am assured that traditional camping is available for uncivilised foreigners who wish to live under material!)
This is on the Spanish/Portuguese border, a few hours’ drive west of Madrid, (more in the next newsletter). Similar in format to Rencontres Jasnieres (see website: www.lalita.net). Will probably also include course before or after.
The last weekend in January, John Higginson is teaching San Shou B in Frankfurt if you fancy an intensive weekend on Solo San Shou. (Places strictly limited).
On the first weekend in February, there is a general taiji course, loosely translated as “Coming in Silence, Going in Action”, which will involve taiji also using components of meditation.

4th Annual Summer Camp in Asturias, España - 5th 6th 7th and 8th July
The annual Spanish camp will take place at Palacio de Garaña, Garaña de Pria, Llanes, Asturias, and this year is due to feature four days’ training with Master Lau Kim Hong.
Accommodation is in 6 berth bungalows, with kitchen and bathroom facilities – these must be booked in advance, and therefore it is essential that booking takes place before April 27th. The cost is 390€ for members, and 468€ for non-members, and includes bed, food and the course. The cost for any companion for room and food is 140€. For those who want to find their own accommodation, the cost of the course only is 280€ for members and 330€ for non-members.
